Exploring Zagori villages
Zagori, the “place behind the mountains” is one of those places which “leave” the best impressions to the visitor. Breathtaking mountains, crystal clear waters and the traditional architecture of the settlements, compose a nature of unspoiled beauty…. At the upcoming days your steps will lead you to places which show the real beauty and hospitality of Greek countryside…
Day 1: Arrival, transportation to Zagori, Kipi village
Morning pick up from Ioannina airport and direct transportation to Kipi village, located at the central Zagori. Free time to rest, after your journey.
In the evening you meet with your guide for a welcome dinner.
Day 2: Kipi – Dikorfo – Kipi
Morning transportation to Dovri Bridge, where from we start our hike. A beautiful walk under the shades of the forest and through forgotten old bridges and waterfalls. After two hours we reach the Chapel of Panagia, outside the village of Dikorfo, and we follow for a while the asphalt road. Soon we enter to a new path which leads us back to Kipi.

Day 3: Kipi – Elati – Kipi
We start our hike from Mylos Bridge, Following the old trail we reach Elati in about 2,5 hours. We return to Kipi from a different path.

Day 4: Kipi – Kapesovo – Koukouli – Kipi
The trail we will follow today, used to be the main connecting trail between the villages of Kipi, Koukouli and Kapesovo. On this walk our steps will take us not only through a beautiful oak forest and a river which other times is full of rapid descending water or sometimes dry, but also through the land plots which were created with great physical labor by the inhabitants of Zagori.

Day 5: Monodendri – Vikos Gorge – Vikos – Aristi
Today we follow the “long way” in the Gorge! Morning transportation to Monodenri village. After a short walk we enter to the bend of the river. A beautiful hike through the shades and the crystal – clear waters of the river (depending on the season). We exit at Vikos village. Transfer to Aristi for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Aristi –Klidonia Bridge
Today we start our hike from the stone bridge and follow Voidomatis river downstream using the clear path. A beautiful view of Voidomatis river and the little gorge it forms. We can also visit the small stone church of Agioi Anargioi along the way. After about 2 hours we reach Klidonia Bridge. Afternoon transfer back to Aristi.

Day 7: Megalo Papingo – Livadakia
Morning transfer to Megalo Papingo. We follow an uphill path, we continue through forest and we end up to Livadakia spot, old sheepfolds. We return from the same path to Papingo, where we have time for a drink.

Day 8: Departure day
Morning transfer to Ioannina airport. End of trip.
